Websites for small businesses

A proper website for your business. £500. Then £120 a year.

No templates, no page-builder bloat. Faster than anything on Wix, a fraction of what an agency charges, and cheaper over three years than building it yourself. And you pay nothing until you've seen the finished site.

What you get

One price, everything included. No add-ons appearing on the invoice later.

Custom, not a template

Designed around your business, not squeezed into a theme thousands of others use. No page builder bloat, which is why it loads in under a second — and why Google ranks it above the template sites your competitors use.

Looks right on every phone

Most of your customers will find you on a mobile. The site is designed for the phone screen first, and tested on real devices before launch.

Basic SEO optimisation

Proper page titles and descriptions written for every page, structured data so Google understands your business and area, sitemap submitted, Search Console set up. The boring groundwork most cheap sites skip.

Your own domain, in your name

Your domain is registered in your name — you own it outright, along with hosting, SSL and renewals, all covered by the monthly fee. First year included in the build price.

Pay when you're happy

No deposit, no upfront payment. The site gets built first, you review the finished thing on your own phone, and you pay when you're happy with it. If it's not right, we change it.

Legally compliant

Privacy policy and cookie consent that actually complies with UK GDPR. Most budget web designers ignore this entirely.

Changes handled for you

New prices, new photos, changed opening hours — email me and it's done. No logging into anything, no "content management system" to learn.

Your three options, honestly

Everyone selling websites has an angle. Here's the whole picture — including mine.

Do it yourself

Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy
£200–£400/yr forever
  • Plans look cheap until you add a domain, remove the ads, and connect email
  • Costs you evenings and weekends you could bill to customers
  • Template sites load slowly and rank poorly
  • Over three years: usually £600–£1,200, plus your time

An agency

Or a freelancer with agency prices
£1,500–£5,000 + retainer
  • Excellent work, built for businesses with marketing budgets
  • Care plans from £50–£150 a month
  • Overkill for a business that needs five good pages
  • Over three years: £3,000 and up

Pricing, all of it

Two numbers. Nothing hidden behind a "request a quote" button.

£500
Once, to build it
  • Up to five pages, written and designed for your business
  • Mobile-first design, tested on real devices
  • Basic SEO optimisation — titles, descriptions, structured data, sitemap
  • Click-to-call, email links, opening hours, maps
  • UK GDPR compliance built in
  • First year of hosting, domain and care included
  • No deposit — you pay after you've seen the finished site
£120/year
From year two
  • Your domain, registered and renewed in your name
  • Fast, secure hosting — no separate bills, ever
  • SSL certificate, renewed automatically forever
  • Backups of every version — anything broken is rolled back in minutes
  • Uptime monitoring — problems spotted before you notice
  • Small content changes, done within two working days
  • One simple Direct Debit, cancel with a month's notice

That's £740 over three years. The same three years on a DIY builder typically costs more — and you build it yourself. If you stop paying, nothing sinister happens: you get your site's files and your domain, and we part ways.

The hosting, in plain English

A lot of the value sits in what the £120 a year quietly does. Here's what's under the bonnet — and what it means for you.

Security certificate (SSL)

The padlock in the address bar. Every connection between your site and your customers is encrypted, and the certificate renews itself automatically, forever. Google penalises sites without it.

Global content network

Copies of your site sit on servers around the world, so visitors are served from a data centre near them — not one machine far away. This is most of why the site loads in under a second.

DDoS protection & firewall

If someone tries to knock your site offline with a flood of traffic, it's absorbed. A web application firewall blocks the standard attacks — malicious bots, injection attempts — before they reach your site.

Unlimited bandwidth

No traffic caps and no overage bills. If one of your posts takes off on a local Facebook group, you don't get an invoice for it.

Backups & instant rollback

Every version of your site is kept. If a change ever breaks something, it's rolled back in minutes — not restored from a backup overnight.

Managed DNS & monitoring

Your domain's routing is handled on fast, reliable DNS, and the site is monitored — if it ever goes down, I'm told about it, usually before you notice.

Why does this matter? Because a customer on a slow or broken site hits the back button and goes to the next result. Speed and reliability aren't technical vanity — they're the difference between an enquiry and a missed one, and both are Google ranking factors.

How it works

Built in a week. Nothing to pay until you've seen it.

We talk

A short call or a few emails. What you do, who your customers are, what the site needs to achieve. No sales pitch — if a £15/month Wix site genuinely suits you better, I'll say so.

I build

You send your logo, photos and prices; I write the copy and build the site. No deposit, no payment upfront — the work happens first.

You review — then pay

You see the finished site on a private link, on your own phone. We adjust until it's right. Happy? That's when you pay. Not happy? You owe nothing.

We launch, I look after it

Domain connected, everything tested, Google told where to look. Then updates, backups and small changes whenever you need them — the site just quietly works.

FAQs

The things people ask before they get in touch.

Do I actually own the website?

Yes. The domain is registered in your name from day one, and once the build is paid for, the site is yours too. If you ever want to move it elsewhere, you get all the files and full domain access. No hostage-taking. Ask Wix or Squarespace the same question and read the answer carefully.

What happens if I stop paying the monthly fee?

The site stays up for 30 days while we sort out the handover — your files, your domain, everything you need to host it elsewhere. It's in the contract in plain English.

Why so much cheaper than an agency?

No office, no account managers, no meetings about meetings. One person, a repeatable process, and a deliberate focus on small businesses that need five good pages — not fifty.

What counts as a "small change"?

Prices, photos, opening hours, a new team member, updated text — anything that takes under half an hour. New pages or redesigns are quoted separately, and I'll always tell you before anything costs money.

How long does it take?

The site is built in a week. The only thing that ever slows it down is waiting on photos and content — have those ready and it's live in days, not months.

No deposit? What's the catch?

There isn't one. The site gets built first; you pay when you've seen it and you're happy. If it's not right, it gets changed. If it's still not right, you walk away owing nothing. It's the strongest guarantee anyone can offer, which is exactly why it's offered.

Azimuthal Solutions logo

Who's behind this

Azimuthal Solutions is a one-man studio. That's not a limitation, it's the business model: no office, no account managers, no meetings about meetings — which is how the price stays where it is. The person you email is the person who built your site and the person who fixes it. Most clients come from being quoted £3,000 by an agency, or from a half-finished Wix site they gave up on in week three. Both are fixable.
